Carol Vorderman's fresh blonde locks were somewhat overshadowed by her AMAZING curves
Carol Vorderman was the talk of Pride of Britain 2014 on Monday, not only for her newly-blonde tresses but because of her famously enviable rear.
The 53-year-old host of the event graced the red carpet in a scarlet gown by Mark Melia Designs, which drew attention to her curves with pearl embellishments at the scoop neck and waist.
Carol, who won the Rear of the Year accolade in July for the second time, stole the limelight from stars including Cheryl Cole – by wowing guests with her incredible shapely bottom. The designer admitted he was concerned about a possible wardrobe malfunction and was on standby backstage to keep an eye on the dress which costs around £360 for the bespoke service.
Mark told Now: ‘Yes, of course. For an event that size it’s always your
biggest worry. But thankfully everything went well and it was a big sigh of
relief once the ceremony was over. I stuck around with all the make-up and hair
people for a couple of tipples but didn’t want to go too overboard. It was so
surreal looking over my shoulder and seeing Simon Cowell.’
She later changed into a second fishtail lace dress by Liverpool-based Mark, who does bespoke women’s clothing, to host the awards which hugged her at the hips and swept the floor.
The long-sleeve ivory number perfectly complimented her gorgeous new honey locks, which she debuted on the night.
Carol added a touch of glamour by greeting crowds outside London’s Grosvenor House Hotel in a pair of Aruna Seth Candy 120mm heels in Champagne Satin which cost £500. The brand has been worn by the likes of Pippa Middleton and Kate Hudson.
The designer told Now: ‘Our shoes are favourited by celebrities because of the special plush-like padding in the sole of the foot, which provide cashmere-like comfort for fit all day long.’
Other big names celebrating a night of heroes at the Daily Mirror’s event included Simon Cowell and partner Lauren Silverman, Great British Bake Off’s Mary Berry and TOWIE favourites Joey Essex, Jasmin Walia and Chloe Sims.
On Tuesday, Carol Vorderman was out again raising awareness for the show before it airs on ITV this evening. She revealed on Twitter she had 12 radio interviews to do as well as the Alan Titchmarsh Show plus Good Morning Britain.
