Looking for a mum-and-daughter date for the weekend? Go see The Choice
Ready for some romance? From the writer of The Notebook comes a heart-warming story that you’ll fall in love with. Whether you go with friends, take your daughter or you mum, The Choice has it all – heartbreak, romance, love and a crateful of Golden Retriever puppies – aww!
The Choice is based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks – most famous for his book-turned-movie The Notebook – and follows a young couple from their rocky first meeting through to a lifelong romance that will be tested when their lives take a turn that neither of them anticipated.
When feisty medical student Gabby (Teresa Palmer) moves next door to ladies’ man Travis (Benjamin Walker) in a small coastal town, they embark on a romantic journey neither imagined possible. Travis always believed a serious relationship would cramp his easy-going lifestyle, while Gabby is preparing to settle down with her long-term boyfriend – until an irresistible attraction between them flips their perfectly planned lives.

Directed by Ross Katz, the film features a stellar cast. As well as Teresa Palmer (Point Break, Warm Bodies) and Benjamin Walker (Flags of Our Fathers, In the Heart of the Sea), this moving tale also stars Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas), Maggie Grace (Taken), Tom Welling (Smallville) and Tom Wilkinson (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel).
The story spans a decade and is set in Sparks’ beloved North Carolina. It features a crowd of characters and concludes with the question that everyone in love has asked themselves at some point – how far would I go to keep the hope of love alive?
