Christian Grey actor had therapy to help him through
Jamie Dornan has revealed how he turned to therapy after suffering several tragic losses as a teenager.
The Fifty Shades Of Grey actor, who will play Christian Grey in the flick, was just 16 when his mother Lorna passed away from pancreatic cancer.
It was a bizarre and huge, awful turning point in my life,’ says Jamie, 31.
The comfort was knowing that it was inoperable – knowing what the outcome was going to be rather than clinging on to some kind of hope that she was going to be with us.
We had a year and a half.’
Jamie was again left devastated just a year later when four of his friends were killed in a car accident and he admits that he’d have struggled to cope if he hadn’t sought psychological support.
I had a terrible time when I was 16, 17,’ the Irish star tells The Sun.
Therapy got me through that – I’m not sure how I would have coped without it.
It’s awful to say this but it’s almost better that I went through that early on, because it’s prepared me for situations that might arise in later life… actually I don’t know that it did.
It’s just some sh*t that happened.’
