Boyband announce comeback, minus Sean Conlon
Boyband 5IVE are following in the footsteps of Take That and East 17 by reforming.
But the band will be without original member Sean Conlon, 25, who is off pursuing a solo career.
Ritchie Neville, 27, Richard ‘Abs’ Breen, 27, Jason ‘J’ Brown, 30, and Scott Robinson, now 26, announced their reunion on Wednesday – fittingly, five years to the day since the group split up.
The group will be keeping their name, despite now only being a foursome. Scott defended the lack of name change, saying: ‘5IVE’s a brand not a number.’
5IVE will be self-financing their comeback and have reportedly been working with songwriter Guy Chambers, who wrote Angels with Robbie Williams, on a forthcoming album.
Ritchie told yesterday’s press conference at the Bar Academy Islington: ‘We’re not money-grabbing like all the other reformed bands.’
J chipped in: ‘If we flop, we’ll move to Goa.’
