Singer's new album turned life around


Alicia Keys credits her new album for saving her from the brink of an emotional crisis.

After the success of 2003 album The Diary Of Alicia Keys – the star, 27, shunned the spotlight after her overnight fame became too hard to handle.

But penning her latest musical offering – As I Am – has proved a cathartic experience for dealing with her personal problems

‘I needed this music more than it needed me,’ she tells the Daily Star. ‘This year’s been a roller-coaster but, as down as I’ve been, I’ve learned so much.

‘I found beauty during the dark times.’
