It means Sharon Osbourne has no acts left
Alisha Bennett has been voted off The X Factor – leaving mentor Sharon Osbourne with no acts left in the talent contest.
The 23-year-old came bottom in the public vote along with girl band Hope, who sang Abba’s Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight).
But the judges opted to send Alisha home after her version of Young Hearts Run Free failed to impress them.
Upbeat Sharon, 55, took the news on the chin.
‘I will now be the only impartial judge,’ she tells the Daily Mirror. ‘I have got nothing to win or lose.’
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell refused to appear on ITV2 spin-off The Xtra Factor on Saturday night because he thought the performances on the live show were not up to scratch.
‘It’s been an absolute disaster,’ he told host Fearne Cotton. ‘Everyone let me down.’
Fellow judge Louis Walsh explained away the absence by joking that Simon, 48, had gone to ‘do his hair’.
Furious Simon is reported to have dropped next week’s Motown theme for a love songs week instead.
