Couple consider marrying at sea in Scotland

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are planning a wedding at sea, it’s claimed.

The couple, who got engaged last April after several years together, have reportedly enquired about hiring luxury cruise ship the Hebridean Princess to hold their nuptials.

The vessel sails near the coast of Scotland and is fit for royalty – it’s previously been chartered by the Queen, who booked it for her 80th birthday celebrations in 2006.

Brad, 49, and Ange, 38, had reportedly been planning to wed at their home in France but were persuaded to hold the ceremony at sea by eldest son Maddox, 11.

It was Maddox who came up with the idea of the ship,’ a source says.

He came across it after looking back at photos of the Carnell Estate in Ayrshire, where they stayed and all loved.

So now they’ve made enquiries into booking the whole vessel.

It’s just what they’re after. It can hold up to 50 of their friends and family and serve as a traditional, romantic setting – all totally private.

Or they could always sail to a secluded bay off the Orkney or Shetland islands and have the ceremony there. The kids are all hooked on old British voyages, so they would love it.

The fact that Maddox found it makes it more special.’

Holding a wedding aboard the ship is an expensive do, with the cost of Brad and Ange’s nuptials estimated at £300,000.

Hebridean Island Cruises, the company that owns the luxury boat, are keeping quiet about whether the Hollywood couple have made enquiries but would love to have them aboard.

We have a very confidential relationship with a number of high-profile guests,’ chief operating officer Ken Charleson tells The Sun.

I can’t confirm whether they have been making enquiries or not.

But of course, they are more than welcome.’
