The mum-of-two had babies later on

Amanda Holden has praised The Saturdays for having children while they’re young.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge – who has daughters Lexi, 7, and Hollie, 21 months, with husband Chris Hughes – thinks women should think about having babies sooner rather than later.

I had my children late,’ Amanda, 42, tells The Sun.

Getting pregnant was never a problem for me but all my girlfriends had trouble and now I’m really pleased that women in our industry are starting to have children at the right time – I mean, half The Saturdays are.

It’s important girls think a little bit more about their families as well as their careers. It’s a mistake to wait.’

The Saturdays have certainly set a trend, with three members of the band becoming mothers in the past two years.

Una Healy, 32, welcomed Aoife Belle in March 2012 while Rochelle Humes, 24, had her daughter Alaia-Mai just over a year later.

Most recently Frankie Sandford, 24, gave birth to her baby boy Parker in October.
