The BGT star can't wait for Simon to be a dad

It’s hard to believe that Amanda Holden, the nation’s TV sweetheart, actually started out her amazing career as a hopeful romantic on Blind Date.

Since then she’s gone on to try her hand at acting, presenting and, of course, being a judge on Britain’s Got Talent and rubbing shoulders with Simon Cowell.

Mum-of-two Amanda, 42, had to smile when Simon announced he was going to become a dad with girlfriend Lauren Silverman.

‘I found it very amusing,’ she tells us.

‘I love the fact that Simon‘s a man in control and this was something he couldn’t control…

‘I think he’ll struggle with his emotions.

‘Your heart really does open up when you have a baby.

‘He’s controlled as a persona but there’s no control over the emotions you feel when you have a baby…

‘He’ll excel at the naughtiness, sneaking the ice creams in when the baby gets older and having fun secrets from Mummy!’

Amanda gets on well with Lauren, who she’s confident will become Mrs Cowell.

‘She’s been really lovely to me and I only ever have nice things to say about her.

‘I think [Simon] will get married – and I want to be there!’
