Straight talking Amanda had some honest words for her fellow Britain's Got Talent judge

They get on like a house on fire but Amanda Holden has revealed that she gave fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon some words of warning before joining the show.

Alesha famously left the Strictly Come Dancing panel in 2012 to join Britain’s Got Talent and Amanda confesses that she was adamant that there wouldn’t be any fireworks between them.

‘Before she started I told her, “I’m not going to play any games and hope you feel the same”,’ Amanda, 44, said.

Amanda added that 36-year-old Alesha came to the show feeling wary of working with another woman saying, ‘She had so much flak for following Arlene [Phillips] on Strictly she was still raw and perhaps suspicious that a woman was saying hello. I think she’s had a lot of trouble from other women but she was glad of the approach.’

She added, ‘Alesha’s brilliant. Simon [Cowell] was probably hoping for cat fights – he loves all that. But I’m a woman’s woman.’

Simon is well known for pitching his female judges against each other on his TV shows in a bid to boost ratings but even when it comes to the things they wear on the ITV show Amanda insists that there’s absolutely no competition.

‘People make a rivalry when it comes to the fashion. But then we are completely different in every way. She’s really tall and thin. I have to wear massive platforms so for me there’s no competition,’ Amanda said.

It’s been a difficult week for the Britain’s Got Talent star and mum of two after her sister Debbie found herself stranded in Nepal following this week’s earthquake.

Amanda was moved to tears while co-presenting This Morning with Phillip Schofield earlier this week after Debbie phoned the show to talk about her ordeal.
