Singer won’t be performing at the Grammys

Amy Winehouse has been denied a US visa.

Officials aren’t willing to let the singer, 24, into the States because of her arrest for cannabis possession in Norway last year.

In addition, The Sun claims the troubled star failed a drugs test when she left rehab to make the application on Tuesday at the US embassy in central London.

Officials are reported to have found un-named traces of an illegal drug in her blood.

It means that Amy won’t be able to perform at the Grammys this Sunday – despite being up for 6 awards.

‘Amy is devastated,’ says a friend. ‘She had been channelling all her energy into getting to LA. Now she’s going to have to watch it on TV instead. She’s really down.’

Amy is currently getting professional help at the Capio Nightingale clinic in Central London.

Dad Mitch, 57, broke the news of her visa denial and now pals are worried it may setback her recovery.

‘Amy wanted this so much that everyone was nervous for her,’ the source tells the Daily Mirror. ‘Mitch thought it was too soon to leave rehab but even he had come round to the idea when he saw how well she was doing. In the end it hasn’t even been down to how she’s doing – just a bit of poxy red tape.’

Amy is believed to be recording a video message for the music bash, reports GMTV.
