Docs say she risks her life if she continues smoking drugs

The cause of Amy Winehouse‘s shock collapse last week has been revealed – she’s developed chronic lung disease.

The singer was rushed to hospital last Monday after falling at her London home.

Doctors were at first unclear as to the cause, but tests have now shown she has emphysema.

And medics have warned Amy that she could die if she doesn’t quit drugs.

‘It’s in its early stages but, had it gone on for another month, they painted a very vivid picture of her sitting there with a mask on her face struggling to breathe,’ dad Mitch, 57, tells The Metro.

‘The doctors have told her that if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won’t just ruin her voice – it will kill her.’

Amy, 24, is still determined to appear at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday gig on Friday in London’s Hyde Park.
