Hotel staff hunt for drugs

Amy Winehouse’s hotel room in St Lucia was checked by security staff every day after guests complained of ‘strange smells’.

No drugs were found in the room Amy, 23, and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil shared for a week at the Jade Mountain resort.

‘With their reputation it was no surprise the management gave the room a thorough check daily,’ a source tells the Sun.

‘They would have been kicked out if there was evidence of drug abuse.’

The couple were due to return to the UK last night but they may go to the US instead.

‘They were bored on the holiday and missed city life,’ says a pal. ‘Amy reckons it will be more lively in the US and she’ll get less hassle as she’s not so well known.’
