Actress staying in the country for two days

Angelina Jolie arrived in Haiti yesterday in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the UN.

The actress is expected to stay in the country for two days to meet victims of last month’s earthquake.

Angelina, 34, was greeted by officials in Port-au-Prince before visiting an SOS Children’s Villages camp and touring a Doctors Without Borders hospital.

‘It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades,’ she says in a statement.

Angelina apparently stayed at a Brazilian military camp outside the city last night.

She has previously visited Iraq, Thailand and Pakistan for the UN.
