Angelina Jolie's de-stressing after her double mastectomy

Angelina Jolie‘s splashed out £13,000 on a therapeutic hot tub.

Determined to get back to full strength following her double mastectomy, the star’s invested in a single-person Japanese ofuro.

A close friend reveals: ‘Angelina likes the Japanese emphasis on “cleansing the spirit”.

‘The tub has 18 air jets to massage tired muscles with varying degrees of pressure, which is just what she needs.’

Ofuro baths are traditionally 2ft deep and come with a seat to allow bathers to sit upright.

It’s all meant to trigger healing echoes of being in the womb.

Angelina, 38, had her op earlier this year after discovering she carries the BRCA1 gene, which gives her an 87 per cent chance of getting breast cancer.

Although doctors have been amazed by her recovery, our source says she’s making extra effort to relax – even sending her fiancé Brad Pitt, 49, away for a while to get some alone time.

‘She told him to take a break because of the stress they’ve been through,’ says our source.

‘He went to France, where he enjoyed nights out with Bono.

‘He also stayed at George Clooney‘s villa in Italy.’
