PSG player happy for daughter to take up the sport

David Beckham says he’d be happy for his daughter Harper Seven to follow in his footsteps.

The PSG footballer thinks his 1-year-old little girl has just as much chance of becoming a professional footballer as her three brothers do.

No, [I wouldn’t mind that] at all,’ says David, 37.

Obviously, when we were living in America that was a big thing, girls playing football.

The girls are very talented over there, and women’s football is big in England and Europe as well so… we’ll see.’

Just as Victoria Beckham, 39, is often seeing taking Harper to fashion events, David enjoys bringing his daughter and her brothers – Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 10, and Cruz, 8 – to work with him.

I always wanted kids I could take to work and for them to experience the things I experience,’ the dad-of-four tells Man About Town Magazine.

So, having three boys as a footballer was a dream. And now to have a little girl who just lightens up my day every time I see or I speak to her… My children are my life.

It’s amazing. But, you know, they’re very grounded, they do normal things – as normal as they can, obviously, given our situation.

Romeo might be on the billboards and be the Burberry model but he’s also one of these little boys who loves going home and playing on PlayStation, or going over to the park and kicking a football around.’
