Prince George looks VERY excited to be celebrating his second birthday soon!
A new photo of Prince George has been released to celebrate his birthday and it’s SO cute!
The picture shows the young royal – who turns two years old tomorrow – giggling with dad Prince William in the gardens of the Sandringham House estate, taken during his sister Princess Charlotte’s baptism earlier this month.
George cheekily leans towards the camera with a big grin on his face as an amused Wills holds him in his arms and laughs. Kate Middleton and Charlotte are absent from the shot.
The photo was taken by Mario Testino and has been shared via Kensington Palace’s official Twitter account.
The relaxed father and son snap is adorable and clearly shows a lovely moment from Charlotte’s christening on 5 July.
‘This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family,’ a Kensington Palace spokesman says.
‘They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George’s second birthday.’
Followers of the royal account loved seeing the cute photo, with one commenting: ‘Awww, how sweet!!!!! #HappyBirthdayPrinceGeorge’
Another wrote: ‘beautiful, joyful child and father!’
The intimate shot was captured as part of the series of official photographs taken for little Charlotte’s baptism.
Earlier today Kensington Palace teased royal fans by revealing that they’d be sharing a picture of George in honour of his special day.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been two years since George made his highly-anticipated entrance into the world. Mum Kate Middleton gave birth to the future king on 22 July 2013 at London’s St Mary’s Hospital on the Lindo Wing, the same place where she welcomed daughter Charlotte in May.
Kate has reportedly organised much of George’s birthday celebrations herself this year and will hold a low-key get-together at the family’s Anmer Hall countryside home in Norfolk.
It’s unclear whether William will be able to make it though as he’s just started his job with the East Anglian Air Ambulance service and could be working.
George will still have plenty of family around though, with Kate’s parents likely to be in attendance as well as several friends.
Have a great day, George!
