Peter Andre has a fresh track and it's being tipped for the top of the charts
Could Peter Andre get a festive chart topper this year?
The 41-year-old has a new song out and it’s being tipped for Christmas Number 1. The catchy single is called Christmas Time’s For Family and is going to be released on 9 December.
The song about dancing around the tree set to the tune of sleigh bells and jazzy horns and is so catchy and some of us at Now HQ are already listening to it on repeat.
Peter‘s CD is available exclusively in Iceland and according to the Official Charts Company it is a contender for Christmas Number 1 2014.
Jameela Jamil will reveal the official number 1 on Sunday 21 December, on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart show. As ever, there’s a total mixed bag of social media campaigns, novelty tracks and charity singles gearing up to battle it out. And there’s also some key releases from some of music’s biggest stars including One Direction, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Jamie Cullum, Kelly Clarkson and many others so Pete faces some stiff competition.
Check out some of our top picks from this year’s offerings…
Do They Know It’s Christmas?
Band Aid 30
Out November 17
Sir Bob Geldof -who masterminded the original – has once again rounded up British music’s best and brightest and the song features One Direction, Bono, Chris Martin, Emeli Sande, Sam Smith, Paloma Faith and Sinead O’Connor this time. The song is fundraising towards the Ebola crisis in West Africa so all for a good cause too.
All Together Now
The Peace Collective

Another all-star charity single that could claim this year’s Christmas Number 1 crown. The team behind The Justice Collective – renamed The Peace Collective – have recorded a cover of The Farm’s All Together Now with the likes of Alexandra Burke, Engelbert Humperdinck, Clean Bandit, Paul Potts and Jane McDonald to mark the 100th anniversary of the Christmas Day truce during the First World War. Money goes towards The British Red Cross and The Shorncliffe Trust.
Out November 6
This is the song from the John Lewis‘Christmas TV ad with Monty The Penguin and is one of our faves – a stirring cover of John Lennon‘s Real Love and one to warm the cockles.
