The Coronation Street baby boom continues with this adorable announcement

Coronation Street‘s Simon Gregson has become the latest member of the cast to share some exciting baby news – and the way he did it is SO cute.

The 40-year-old actor – best known for playing Corrie stalwart Steve McDonald – took to Twitter on Wednesday night and posted a funny picture to announce that he and wife Emma Gleave are expecting a child.

In the snap Simon has the word ‘beer’ written on his torso and an arrow pointing at his belly, whilst Emma‘s tum says ‘baby’ above it – awww!

‘After a stressful few months….myself and @emmagleave are excited to announce…..,’ Simon captioned the photo.

The couple – who are already parents to sons Harry and Alfie – both have comically shocked expressions on their faces as they pose together in the garden.

Congratulations soon poured in on Twitter, with several of Simon‘s Coronation Street co-stars sharing their happiness at the news.

Alan Halsall Tweeted Emma saying: ‘I have just spoken with "Beer" 😂
Massive congratulations were thrilled for you, can’t wait to see you all on Sunday 😘’

Meanwhile Simon‘s on-screen mum Beverley Callard wrote: ‘oh so thrilled! X’

Simon seemed over the moon about becoming a father again and joked to Emma: ‘hang on this means I get free lifts from the pub I love baby’s’

Whilst Emma is unable to drink, Simon‘s fellow Corrie star Brooke Vincent has offered to make up for it.

‘Omfg!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS @simongregson123 @emmagleave I’ll drink for you Em don’t worry!! 👶💛,’ Brooke told the expectant mum on Twitter.

Simon cheekily responded: ‘Brooke you need the practice! This is a great head start for you…….Christmas, I’m coming for ya ! Xx’

The happy news comes amidst a bit of a baby boom for the Corrie cast. Samia Ghadie – aka Maria Connor – announced in March that she’s expecting a child with boyfriend Sylvain Longchambon, whilst several other stars including Catherine Tyldesley, Paula Lane and Jennie McAlpine have all recently given birth.
