Peaches gives birth on her late mum Paula Yates's birthday
Peaches Geldof and husband Thomas Cohen are said to be ‘over the moon’ after Peaches gave birth to their second child last night.
The couple – who are already parents to one-year-old Astala – welcomed baby Phaedra on what would have been Peaches‘ late mum Paula Yates’s 54th birthday.
Peaches, 24, chose to have a caesarean on the date in memory of her mum, who died of a heroin overdose in 2000.
‘They are absolutely over the moon about their new arrival,’ a source tells The Sun.
‘It all went smoothly and Peaches will be in hospital for a while to recuperate. [Peaches‘ dad] Bob [Geldof] is absolutely over the moon – the whole family are.
‘They are particularly pleased about the significance of the date as it makes Peaches feel she is keeping her mum’s memory alive.’
Rock singer Thomas, 22, was present at the birth of Phaedra, who is rumoured to be named after an album by German electro group Tangerine Dream.
Peaches previously admitted that she was glad there wouldn’t be much of an age gap between her two boys.
‘As much as I would love to have a daughter one day, I am thrilled Astala will have a brother,’ she told Hello!
‘They can share clothes and toys and do boy stuff together.’
