Twilight star scoops prize

Kristen Stewart attended last night’s Bafta Awards with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson and scooped the Orange Rising Star Award.

The public voted the actress, 19, their winner over Jesse Eisenberg, Nicholas Hoult, Carey Mulligan and Tahar Rahim.

‘I want to thank the most devoted fans ever,’ Kristen told the audience at London’s Royal Opera House.

She has had an astronomical rise to fame since starring in the Twilight saga, in her role as protagonist Isabella ‘Bella’ Swan.

Carey Mulligan and Colin Firth took the top acting gongs, for their performances in An Education and A Single Man respectively.

The Hurt Locker was named Best Film and scooped 6 other prizes, including Best Director for Kathryn Bigelow

Other winners included Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor for Inglourious Basterds and Mo’Nique for Best Supporting Actress for Precious.
