The Great British Bake Off final is airing this week with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood

The Great British Bake Off final is airing this week and we’re feeling a bit weird about that fact. We’re SO excited about it, obvs, but also VERY aware that after this week, Bake Off is finished for another year, and we’re going to have to wait a whole 365 days before Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry grace our screens again.

We’re just going to have to drown our sorrows in some cake, which Mezza B has pretty much prescribed to us as a remedy.

‘I actually think eating cake is good for us.’

We could not agree more Mary.

But while speaking to The Sunday Times, the 80-year-old judge shared that she doesn’t actually just clean up and eat all the yummy goodies that the contestants bake on the show, as if she indulged too much, she doesn’t think people would tune in and watch.

‘I eat carefully because people don’t want to see a large person judging cakes.’

‘They’ll think to themselves that that’s what happens if you eat cake.’

Well, we’re sure none of us think you solely JUST eat cake alone to survive M-Bizzle.

But before you think Mary is getting involved in the complex row of body-shaming, she’s just concerned for people’s health: ‘I’m sad about Britain’s obesity problems, but it’s a matter of eating the right foods, and not too much.’

Hear, hear!

So basically, Mary Berry herself is saying we need to not too much but that cakes are good for us?  Yeah, we’ll go with that – much more simple than all this kale and green juice malarky!
