Russel Br-- Actually it's Benedict Cumberbatch shouting about the government at the end of his Hamlet performance

Benedict Cumberbatch channelled that rebellious Hamlet spirit by criticising the government after his final show at the Barbican theatre – and he didn’t skimp on the expletives.

After bowing to rapturous applause, he shouted, ‘F**k the politicians’ to the stunned theatregoers, before going on to say, ‘Government is not doing enough.’

He even sent out a direct challenge to the Home Secretary Theresa May, ‘I’d like to sit down with Theresa May and get a full understanding of how her political economic model works… that there is virtually a zero degree of financial benefit from an immigrant population.’

This obviously shocked the audience, who bought tickets to listen about Denmark’s problems, not Britain’s. One audience goer said, ‘Out of nowhere came this “F*** the politicians” remark. It’s not quite what you’d expect when you go for an evening with the Bard, but it got a few cheers.’

To be fair to shouty Sherlock, he did recently front a charity single, Help Is Coming, to raise money for the plight of refugees across the world. But this didn’t stop Twitter uncharacteristically expressing their views on his speech:

But some were in support, including social entrepreneur and charity runner Yasmin Choudhury:

For some it was a moment of inspiration:

And others weren’t concerned with the politics:

With this critically acclaimed run of Hamlet coming to an end, we have to ask: is Benedict the new Russel Brand? And for those asking for the actor to open his own house to the refugees, maybe you should reconsider considering how weird his stalker is…
