Taylor Swift follows closely behind with four

Beyoncé Knowles was the big winner at last night’s Grammy Awards – taking home six gongs.

The singer, 28, clinched Best Contemporary R&B Album for I Am…Sasha Fierce and Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) was named Song Of The Year, Best R&B Song and had the Best R&B Female Vocal

Beyoncé also took home awards for Best Pop Vocal Performance for Halo and Best Traditional R&B Vocal for At Last

‘I’d like to thank my family including my husband [Jay-Z], I love you,’ she said.

Taylor Swift, 19, followed closely behind with four wins, including the coveted Album Of The Year for Fearless.

She also scooped trophies for Best Country Album, Best Country Song and Best Female Country Vocal for her track White Horse.  

Kings Of Leon won a trio of prizes for their hit Use Somebody, while the Black Eyed Peas also nabbed three gongs.

Other winners included Lady GaGa, 23, and Eminem, who took home two gongs each. 

Michael Jackson‘s music career was celebrated with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award
