It came hours after the sweet announcement that she’s having twins…

Pregnant Beyonce broke the internet last night with the announcement that she and husband Jay Z are expecting twins.

Her Instagram post quickly surpassed Selena Gomez’s record for the most liked photo on the photo sharing app, and has been double tapped almost eight million times.

But the happy news was soon shrouded in mystery when the snap that started the pregnancy rumours was photoshopped to remove her bump.

A promo image from 35-year-old Beyonce’s activewear line Ivy Park, showing her sporting a very prominent bump, leaked earlier this week which undoubtedly led to the official announcement.

Hours later a photo of the Drunk In Love singer wearing the same khaki gym top appeared on the official Topshop Instagram account – minus the bump.

A flood of comments followed, with many confused fans wondering why Ivy Park had made the decision to release the retouched photos.

‘Imagine photoshopping Beyonce’s unborn child,’ one wrote, while another questioned: ‘Photoshopped the bump?’

Beyonce broke the news with a sweet snap of her on her knees and cradling her gorgeous bump. She wrote alongside it: ‘We would like to share out love and happiness.

‘We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes – The Carters.’

She and Jay, 47, are already parents to five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, and sources close to the superstar family claim the youngster is super excited to be a big sister.
