BBOTS host Rylan Clark-Neal revealed the unprecedented news on Twitter

As we gear up to go down the rabbit hole for Big Brother 2016, a MAJOR twist has been announced that’s kinda blown our minds.

This year, the show will have not one, but TWO houses!

Big Brother’s Bit On The Side host Rylan Clark-Neal made the exciting announcement on his Twitter feed on Wednesday night.

Revealing the existence of ‘the others’, Ry wrote: ‘The game is changing… and THE OTHERS are coming. A new set of Housemates will enter a new game.

But they won’t be alone. For the first time ever, Big Brother has TWO HOUSES @BBUK #BBUK’

But what’s even more intriguing is that it sounds as though the members of the two houses could have been picked for rather specific reasons…

‘Neither THE HOUSEMATES nor THE OTHERS are aware that some of them are already connected to each other. And these CONNECTIONS could turn both houses upside down,’ Rylan added.

‘But what are these CONNECTIONS and how will Big Brother use them to keep everyone on their toes.’

Curiouser and curiouser!

He finished his big reveal with a sentence that made us all excited deep inside: ‘Welcome to the summer of BRUV! Xxx’

Fourteen hours later and Rylan was back on his smartphone, this time to share the very first pictures of what this year’s house – sorry, houses! – look like.

And it seems they’re as zany as we’ve come to expect, with wacky prints and bright colours galore.

The infamous stairs each contestant must walk down on entering the house (and then back up when the eventually get evicted) features neon strip lights, leading down to a black and white zigzag floor and punchy yellow sofas in the living room.

We also got a glimpse of the bathroom, bedroom and garden area, including the place where so much BB magic has happened before – the hot tub.

Gah, we just can’t WAIT for the series to start! Tune in to see Emma Willis reveal this year’s housemates on Tuesday 7 June at 9pm on Channel 5.
