Former One Direction star Zayn Malik was due to join Graham Norton on his chat show this week, but he's had a last minute change of heart
We were SO looking forward to staying in this Friday and watching Zayn Malik give his first TV interview since quitting One Direction – hell, we’d even bought a posh packet of crisps and a nice bottle of red wine in anticipation of the event.
But now we’ve been let down by the former 1D star, as he’s CANCELLED the interview at the last minute – booo!
Zayn was due to join Graham Norton on his beautiful chat show sofa to discuss just what’s been going on since he left the band last March, with everyone hoping he would spill some juicy details about his life – such as what he really thinks of the 1D boys, why-oh-why he dumped fiancé Perrie Edwards, and how he’s getting on with new girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
Oh yes, and there’s the small matter of his first solo single coming out this Friday.
The interview was due to be recorded on Thursday before airing on Friday, but on Wednesday it was revealed that Zayn wouldn’t be able to make it due to a ‘scheduling conflict.’
Speaking to the Mirror, a rep for the star said: ‘Unfortunately there was a scheduling conflict as Zayn is currently in the studio completing his album.’
A source added: ‘It’s bad luck but he’s still in the studio working on his album.’
Erm, someone wants to have a word with whoever is planning Zayn’s diary, because this is a major muck-up!
Zayn’s cancelation leaves Hollywood star Will Smith, Laura Mvula and the cast of the new Dad’s Army film going it alone on the BBC chat show.
Which, y’know, is fine – but we’ll definitely miss Zayn.
Still, at least we have that bottle of red to keep us company…
