The Jolie-Pitt kids face a heartbreaking choice this festive season
It’s been reported that Brad, 52, might NOT get to see his kids at Christmas due to the nature of his custody battle with his now estranged wife Angelina.
The actor has filed for joint custody of the couple’s six children and is currently being granted one visit per week under the temporary arrangement they’ve got in place with the child therapy team. Angelina, 41, has physical custody at the moment.
But it apparently falls to the kids – Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox – to decide whether they want to see their dad at Christmas or not.
‘If a child says they don’t want to see Brad on Christmas, the psychiatrist isn’t going to force them,’ a source tells People magazine. ‘That’s the whole purpose of this agreement.’
This sad news comes after the FBI and Department of Child and Family Services last month closed an investigation into an alleged incident between Brad and eldest son Maddox that took place on a private jet in September.
No charges were brought and Brad was cleared of any wrongdoing, but the custody agreement currently in place means he has had limited time with his offspring ever since.
‘Brad has not seen his children alone without a monitored therapist since the plane incident,’ the insider adds.
‘Angelina has not left the children’s side since the plane incident. She still has not completed her film [First They Killed My Father]. She has been with them the whole time trying to make sure they heal.’
It sounds like things are still difficult for Brangelina ever since their shock split was announced in September.
Angelina filed for divorce from her husband of two years, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’, in news that came as a surprise to fans of the famous pair.
They began their relationship back in 2005 and had always been hailed as one of Hollywood’s golden couples.
Sadly things have clearly deteriorated and it looks like this won’t be a very merry Christmas for at least one of them…
