Steph's ex turned himself over to police in Merseyside

Jeremy McConnell was arrested as he arrived back in the UK this morning following allegations he assaulted former girlfriend Stephanie Davis.

The Irish model and reality TV star is set to be questioned by police this afternoon after flying back from Ireland, where he jetted to earlier in the week.

A police spokeswoman confirmed to The Sun:

“Following a report of an assault at an address in (Liverpool), a man has this morning (March 16) been arrested. A 27-year-old man from Liverpool city centre has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after voluntarily attending a police station on Merseyside. He remains in police custody for questioning.”

A source told the publication: “Jeremy has flown back to Liverpool for questioning.

“He is continuing to cooperate with officers as they investigate the claim further. He’s hoping to fly back to Ireland later this evening.”

Steph was named as Jeremy’s alleged victim hours after it was first revealed he was being investigated by police over the reported assault.

A complaint was made on Sunday following the alleged altercation last Thursday. However a representative for 27-year-old Jez denied the allegations, releasing a statement to The Sun on Tuesday which read: ‘Jeremy denies any wrong doing, however he is fully cooperating with the police in their investigations.’

The news first broke Tuesday evening, with a police spokesperson confirming at the time: ‘Merseyside Police can confirm a report was received of an assault at a property on Thursday 9 March.

‘Officers were contacted on Sunday, 12 March and an investigation into the incident is on-going.

‘At this time no arrests have been made.’
