The 'it girl' and reality star has passed away months after revealing brain tumour battle

Tara Palmer-Tomlinson has died at the age of 45, it’s been confirmed.

The reality star and society girl was found at her home in London earlier today (Wednesday 8th February) after police were called to the address.

A police spokesperson tells The Sun: ‘Police were called by London Ambulance Service at approximately 13:40hrs on Wednesday, 8 February to an address in Bramham Gardens, SW5.

‘A woman, aged in her 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.

‘The death is being treated as unexplained. At this early stage, police are not treating the death as suspicious.

‘Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. The Coroner has been informed.’

It comes just months after Tara – who appeared in reality shows such as I’m A Celebrity – revealed that she’d been diagnosed with a brain tumour last year.

The TV star explained in November that the non-malignant growth in her pituitary gland was discovered in January after she’d been feeling generally unwell since the previous summer.

‘I went to the doctors to talk about my latest blood test results when I got back from skiing in January,’ she told the Daily Mail. ‘I said, “What does this mean? Can you translate it?’”

‘And the doctor said, “As I suspected, you have a brain tumour.”

Tara was left ‘frightened’ by the news and admitted: ‘I started thinking, “I’m going to die, I’m going to die. I’ve only got a couple of weeks to live.” Stuff like that.’

The tumour was successfully reduced by treatment but she was also diagnosed with a rare auto-immune condition which can cause weight loss, anaemia and joint pain.

In her younger years Tara – whose family have close ties with the royals – was known for her party lifestyle and had been treated for cocaine addiction.

She said that her health scare last year had given her a ‘better perspective on life’ though.

Our thoughts are with Tara’s loved ones at this sad time.
