Former Westlife singer offers to move back in with his ex to support her new career
But now it appears Kerry’s ‘no drugs and booze’ transformation hasn’t just revitalised her career but has also built bridges between her and Brian, the father of her daughters Molly and Lilly-Sue.
The former Westlife singer has stunned friends and family by doing a complete U-turn in his attitude to the woman he once called ‘a pig-faced mole’ and has pledged to support Kerry as she relaunches her career.
Since she split with her low-life second husband Mark Croft in February, friends say Kerry, 30, and Brian have been in constant contact and he’s been impressed by her commitment to getting her life back in order.
The pair speak regularly on the phone and Brian’s told Kerry he’ll be in the UK to help with the kids so that she can concentrate on her forthcoming stint on Dancing On Ice, which starts today.
‘For the first time in years Brian and Kerry are friends,’ an excited friend tells Now.
‘It’s amazing because there was so much bad feeling between them but they’ve had many long conversations in recent months and have reached a very amicable truce.
Brian, 30, feels ashamed about his part in Kerry’s downfall – for years he blamed her for everything – but now he can see that he broke her heart.
‘Brian’s told Kerry to “go for it” and get her career back.
‘He knows she’ll be stressed trying to juggle the kids and work on the show.
‘He’s even offered to move into Kerry’s Surrey home so that he can take the two eldest girls Molly [nine] and Lilly-Sue [seven] to school and do their homework with them while she’s working.’
They’ve been engaged for over three years and have yet to tie the knot, despite plans to wed in December 2009.
Earlier this year Brian denied they were on the rocks after it was reported that Brian had moved out of their luxury pad in Sydney.
Their recent single Mistakes didn’t reach the Australian Top Five and he’s also been accused of making inappropriate remarks in the media.
Although Brian and Delta are still officially an item, his goodwill gesture to Kerry has gone a long way to repairing their relationship.
After a reconciliation in June, Kerry admitted that she still loves him.
‘I tried replacing him with Mark but when I saw him I thought: “I never really got over you!”‘ she said.
‘He was my knight in shining armour. I’ll always love Brian.’
Let’s just hope the reality star isn’t setting herself up for more heartache.
A Love/Hate Story
After a rocky start when he admitted to a sexual encounter with a stripper on his stag night, Brian and Kerry soon became the tabloid fairytale romance.
They seemed set to be the next Richard and Judy as Brian took intensive TV courses – but two years after their wedding in 2002, they split and the insults began.
Choice Tweets include Kerry calling him ‘the fat one from Westlife‘ to which he retorted:
‘Take the bowl of mayo-drenched chips out of your face and look in the mirror!’
But it looks like that’s all behind them…
