After his emotional Diane Sawyer interview, Bruce Jenner will continue to share his 'intimate' story on screen

Bruce Jenner admitted that the year ahead would be ‘quite in a ride’ after sharing plans to live as a transgender woman in his recent Diane Sawyer interview – and now we’ve learned that we’ll get to follow his journey on screen.

The 65-year-old’s life as his female self will be the subject of an upcoming documentary series on E!, which promises to tell his ‘intimate story’ and examine how he finds his ‘new normal’.

Shown as an eight-part, one-hour series during the summer, the as-yet-untitled show will make for fascinating viewing.

Bruce is incredibly courageous and an inspiration, and we are proud to be entrusted with this deeply personal and important story,’ Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President of Programming and Development at E!, says in a press release.

‘This series will present an unfiltered look as Bruce boldly steps into uncharted territory and is true to himself for the first time.’

Former Olympian Bruce is no stranger to reality TV. He’s lived his life in front of the cameras for many years, having starred with his family in Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but he always kept his desire to become a woman a secret.

Now, as he gets ready to embark on a new chapter of his life, viewers will get to see how Bruce‘s transition affects his relationships and how he faces ‘life’s challenges’.

E! have made it clear that the issue will be handled sensitively. The documentary will be produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, a company with 20 years’ experience of sharing LGBT stories, and several experts will also be consulting on production.

After months of speculation, Bruce finally spoke about his ‘true self’ in an emotional two-hour ABC interview with Diane Sawyer shown on Friday night.

‘For all intents and purposes, I am a woman,’ he explained.

‘My brain is much more female than it is male. That’s what my soul is. Bruce lives a lie. She is not a lie. I can’t do it anymore.

‘I have always been very confused with my gender identity since I was this big.’

The reality star has received a huge amount of support following his revelation and there will doubtless be thousands of fans keen to see how his journey unfolds.
