Heavily pregnant star lets slip she's expecting a son
Expectant mum Cate Blanchett has accidentally revealed the sex of her unborn baby.
She reassured reporters at the Oscars on Sunday that she wasn’t experiencing any red carpet kicks – and gave the game away.
‘He’s actually asleep – believe it or not, which bodes well,’ she told People.com.
Cate, 38, wore a glamorous maternity gown to the bash at the Kodak Theatre but, despite 2 nominations, did not go home with an Academy Award.
Marion Cotillard beat her to Best Actress for her portayal of Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose and Tilda Swinton swiped Best Supporting Actress for Michael Clayton
But Cate did get a gong for her role as Bob Dylan in I’m Not There at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday and dedicated it to the late actor Heath Ledger.
She is due to give birth in April.
