Swagger Jagger singer Cher, who had only performed 2 songs, was seen crying and was clearly upset by the incident.
After a short time she returned to the Arena Stage to continue her set.
It’s hard enough being up here, but it’s not nice having bottles of p*ss chucked at you,’ Cher, 19, told the crowd.
Later on the teenager thanked fans for their support, Tweeting, Thank you so much for all the nice messages, shame that a couple of people had to ruin it, unfortunately a glass bottle got thrown at me on stage.
Tomorrow is another day,big love to my brats!!! Xxx‘
Cher, who came 4th on The X Factor in 2010, has often been the target of cyber bullies.
It’s a real shame that a few individuals spoil the gig for all the other fans in the audience,’ Cher’s spokesman told Mail Online.
The star’s set at the other V Festival site in Staffordshire on Sunday was reportedly incident-free.
