The beaming star comes back from the US armed with exciting offers

Cheryl Coles trip to LA the weekend before last was planned to perfection.

She jetted in for just three days to attend the Grammy Awards and for top secret high-powered talks with TV executives.

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, 25, found herself rubbing shoulders with stars such as Justin Timberlake and was in prime camera position alongside Grammy winner Duffy.

It didn’t end there – although Cheryl’s camp insist that she only went to LA for a holiday and to visit bandmate Nadine Coyle, Now can reveal that she actually had secret talks with US music executives, introduced to her by Black Eyed Peas star, and met with Simon Cowell’s friend, former American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe.

Our source reveals that Cheryl talked to Nigel about the possibility of her getting involved in his new US show Superstars Of Dance with Irish dancer Michael Flatley.

However, it was the suggestion that Cheryl could be lined up as a replacement for Sharon Osbourne on the panel of America’s Got Talent that really sparked her interest.

Sharon loves Cheryl and has her own projects lined up, so she doesn’t want to do America’s Got Talent for ever,’ says our insider.

Simon thinks Cheryl would be great in Sharon’s seat. He’s told her that, even though she’d prefer to break LA with her music, she should consider all her options. She certainly had a whirlwind weekend and now has lots to think about.’

Cheryl has returned to the UK to get back to training for her Comic Relief climb of Mount Kilimanjaro at the end of the month. The singer was all smiles as she arrived at Heathrow Airport.

‘She was energised, even after the 11-hour flight,’ says our source. ‘She achieved what she wanted to in LA and is pumped about her upcoming climb. She really feels fantastic about her future.’

Girls Aloud’s spokesperson tells Now: ‘Cheryl’s not known in America and has said that she doesn’t want to crack the US. She’s making music with her group and annoyed about all the speculation.’
