Kick-Ass star Chloe Grace Moretz also urged young girls 'don't be afraid to speak your mind' as she responded to that spat with Kim Kardashian
It all kicked off online last week when Kim Kardashian posted THAT naked selfie, effectively breaking the internet for a second time.
But, amongst all the #damndaniel hashtagging and peach emoji posting that the picture prompted, a string of famous faces hit out at Kimmy’s controversial snap.
Along with the likes of Pink and Bette Midler, they included 19-year-old actress and feminist Chloe Grace Moretz, who tweeted Kim saying: ‘I truly hope you realize how important setting goals are for young women, teaching them we have so much more to offer than our bodies.’
Kim wasn’t too impressed with the Kick-Ass star’s response, firing back a cutting tweet, but now Chloe has stood by her reply.
Speaking to ELLE, she said: ‘All I’ll say is that I think a lot of things can be misconstrued in a lot of ways.
‘And I think if people open their minds more, and they try to look deeper into something than just something that is a very big, hot, fiery button to hide behind.’
She added: ‘I think if people looked into something bigger that I was trying to speak upon, they wouldn’t be so easy to fire back silly, miscellaneous things.’
Going on to give advice to young women using social media, Chloe said: ‘Depict yourself adequately as what you want to be seen as.
‘Don’t front, don’t put something out there that you feel isn’t realistic and doesn’t portray who you are. Just be yourself, be you, and don’t be afraid to speak your mind.’
Chloe also took to Twitter to defend her reaction, writing: ‘There’s a huge difference in respecting the platform that you’re given as a celebrity and “slut shaming” something I never have done and would never do.’
Meanwhile, Kanye West‘s ex-girlfriend Amber Rose has come out in support of Kim.
