The Voice US star was shot dead on Friday
Fans around the world were devastated when the news broke that star of The Voice, Christina Grimmie, had died after being shot outside her concert on Friday night.
With celebrities such as Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Selena Gomez having paid tribute, now her brother Mark Grimmie has told the world of his heartbreak, revealing that he ‘doesn’t know how to go on without her’.
Christina was signing autographs outside her concert in Orlando, Florida on June 10th when she was suddenly shot by what police have called a ‘deranged fan’.
Though she was rushed to hospital, she succumbed to gunshot wounds in hospital hours later on Saturday morning.
Christina’s older brother Mark, who was at the scene, managed to tackle the shooter, 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl, before he fatally shot himself. In a heart-breaking statement given to People, Mark paid tribute to the singer:
‘Christina was more than my sister. She was a partner in life. A superstar. A goofball. Introverted. And a friend to everyone. Genuinely.’
Mark added: ‘But above all…she was my baby sister. She loved the Lord and her family and was always there for me and I honestly don’t know what I’ll do without her.’
Christina competed on the American edition of the singing contest in 2014, and came third. She was in Orlando as the musical support of band Before You Exit – and posted a promotional video, inviting fans to come to the show, hours before:
All at Now send deepest condolences to Christina’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
