Amy Winehouse's cause of death has not yet been determined

Amy Winehouse‘s ‘friend’ Tony Azzopardi claims he helped the singer buy crack cocaine and heroin on 22 July, the Friday night before her death – but feels full of guilt.

‘I want Amy‘s family to know how I feel now,’ he says.

‘I feel bad, but I believe all of this will come out anyway so I may as well say it now.’

Police have questioned Tony about his confession that he went with Amy in a taxi to meet a dealer and his allegation that he saw her smoking crack on the way back to her Camden home.

‘I should have just said I couldn’t help,’ Tony, 55, tells The People.

‘I feel guilty about what happened. You look back and wonder if you’d have done something or not done something, would it be different.

‘But I don’t think it would have mattered, she was gonna find it somehow. If I hadn’t someone else would have.’

Amy‘s dad Mitch, 60, thinks his daughter died from a seizure brought on by withdrawal from drink and drugs.

The results of an autopsy to determine cause of death have yet to be published.
