The tennis champ is caught up in the moment

Andy Murray made an awkward faux pas after triumphing in the Wimbledon Men’s Final yesterday.

The tennis ace, 26, forgot to hug his mum Judy when he ran into the Centre Court stands to embrace his family and friends.

Andy had climbed over rows of cheering spectators to the players’ box so he could thank his coach Ivan Lendl, girlfriend Kim Sears and other loved ones.

But as he was about to turn back down he realise he hadn’t spoken to Judy and had to turn back to cuddle her.

‘I did forget her. I just heard her squealing behind me when I was trying to get down,’ says Andy.

Andy was also watched by celebs including Victoria Beckham, Wayne and Coleen Rooney and Bradley Cooper in the nail-biting match against Serbian Novak Djokovic.

Luckily for the Scotsman, Judy – who broke down in tears at his win – quickly forgave him for his mistake.

‘I was an emotional wreck but it is the best feeling ever to watch your son win Wimbledon,’ Judy tells the BBC.

‘This is the thing he has talked about winning since he was a little boy and it was a dream that has suddenly become a reality for him.’
