The actor rocks a very different look in the new film

The first trailer for Benedict Cumberbatch‘s new film The Fifth Estate has been released.

Benedict, 36, sports chin-length white hair and puts on an impressive Australian accent to play WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in the clip.

He’s seen acting alongside Inglourious Basterds star Daniel Brühl, who appears as Julian‘s business associate Daniel Domscheit-Berg.

Other famous faces with roles include Peter Capaldi, Laura Linney, David Thewlis and Downton Abbey‘s Dan Stevens.

In one heated scene, Benedict undoes the buttons on his shirt while a woman takes her clothes off in front of him.

The Fifth Estate charts WikiLeaks from its inception to its abrupt end after a series of controversial and history-changing information leaks.

It’s been directed by The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn‘s Bill Condon and is set to open in the UK on New Year’s Day.
