The actor worries about some of his fans' collective name
Benedict Cumberbatch enthusiasts call themselves the Cumberclan and Cumberladies but some still label themselves Cumberbitches.
The actor, 37, doesn’t think it’s the best name for his adoring followers.
‘I’m a little disturbed because I think they set feminism back a few years!’ says Benedict, 37.
Benedict – who plays WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in new film The Fifth Estate – has attracted a lot attention since first starring in BBC show Sherlock three years ago.
After landing roles in flicks including summer hit Star Trek Into Darkness, he’s also become well-known overseas.
But single Benedict is still coming to terms with his popularity.
‘It’s interesting and it’s something I’m processing. It’s new to me and I’m sure I’ll get used to it and find a way of dealing with it,’ Benedict tells the Daily Mirror.
‘I find it kind of amusing, but I’m very flattered by it.’
