Former Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes opens up about her battle with bingeing

There was a time when Chanelle Hayes wasn’t shy about stripping off for lads’ mags.

But these days she’s a little more reluctant – after putting on 3st.

I don’t feel comfortable in my clothes any more,’ she tells Now.

At the start of the year I was 9st and now I’m 11st 7lb.

‘I need to do something about it.’

The ex-Big Brother star, 25, has suffered from depression and polycystic ovaries – and four years ago told us she’d become hooked on liposuction in her desperation to be a size zero.

Now running a cake shop in Warrington and mum to super-cute son Blakely, three, by her footballer ex Matthew Bates, Chanelle admits she’s a size 14 and addicted to food.

Food can be an abused substance, especially carbs and processed foods,’ she explains.

‘It’s addictive, especially when you’re depressed.

‘Some people take drugs to get a high – it’s the same for me with food.

‘I was getting a temporary high and then afterwards I’d feel worse.’
