The teen's loved ones were horrified when they heard the rumours

Chloë Grace Moretz has lashed out at hoaxers who claimed she died in a Swiss snowboarding accident last weekend.

The actress, 16, was furious that some of her family members had been tricked by the vicious rumours and took to Twitter to reassure fans that she’s fine.

‘I don’t know who made this up but you’re disgusting.I am not dead.I did not die from snowboarding. It isn’t even snowing here in Switzerland,’ Tweeted Chloë on Sunday.

‘I’ve had my loved ones calling crying to check and see if I’m alive. Don’t make this up. It’s not real.I am fully alive and here. You’re sick.’

Chloë was in Switzerland when she was said to have been killed but – as one of her fans pointed out on Twitter – she’s actually a skier rather than a snowboarder.

The pretty teen isn’t the first celebrity to be targeted by pranksters in this way.

Stars including Charlie Sheen, Owen Wilson, Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler have all been been the subject of snowboarding death reports in the past.
