The actor is said to have looked 'so good, so healthy'
Cory Monteith was in an upbeat mood just hours before he was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on Saturday, friends have said.
The Glee star, 31, had been spending time with pals and is reported to have been in a ‘positive frame of mind’.
Cory‘s shock death came two days after he’d appeared in ‘great spirits’ while enjoying a ‘quiet night with a lot of laughing’ with former mentor Maureen Webb.
‘He looked so good, so healthy. We ate a lot of food, we drank rhubarb lemonade,’ Maureen – who heads children’s art charity Project Limelight – tells People.
A week ago, Canadian-born Cory was photographed laughing over three beers at local biker hang-out The Shop.
Cory – who played Finn Hudson in hit musical show Glee – spent time in rehab for substance abuse in April.
He’d first received treatment for alcohol addiction at the age of 19.
Cory‘s celebrity friends have been flooding Twitter to pay their respects since hearing the sad news, while his girlfriend Lea Michele is said to be ‘devastated’.
An autopsy on his body has been fast-tracked and results are expected in two or three days.
