Cristiano gets a new 'do

Cristiano Ronaldo has debuted a snazzy new hairstyle.

The Portugal captain, 29, stepped onto the pitch for his country’s 2014 FIFA World Cup match against the USA yesterday with a lightning bolt shaved into the side of his head.

Cristiano paired his unique ‘do with some very carefully preened eyebrows – but it looks like he may not have gone to the barbers for vanity.

According to an unconfirmed story on Twitter, Cristiano‘s streak matches the scar of a young Spanish fan who had surgery to remove a brain tumour last week.

Cristiano reportedly paid for 10-month-old Erik Ortiz Cruz‘s £50,000 operation.

It was a tense game for dad-of-one Cristiano and his teammates at Brazil’s Arena Amazônia, which ended with a 2-2 result.

Fans were cheering the lads on from home.

I need Portugal to win tonight! I love you USA but c’mon Ronaldo!!!! 🙌⚽️🏆,’ Tweeted one.

Another later wrote: I wanted Portugal to win so badly! But we can play way better than this!
