Portuguese sportsman Cristiano gets his own reward from acts of generosity

Cristiano Ronaldo is a Global Ambassador for Save The Children and he believes his late father would approve of his good work.

‘My father always taught me that when you help other people, then God will give you double,’ says the football star.

‘And that’s what has really happened to me. When I have helped other people who are in need, God has helped me more.’

Cristiano, 28, who is dad to a 2-year-old son himself, knows that his mum also approves of his efforts for charity.

‘When I go home, my mum says: “Son, you have done a good act in helping other people. It’s good that you are interested in how the world lives,”‘ Cristiano tells The Sun.

‘It is so nice to hear things like that from people who are so important to me.

‘I feel great.’
