David thinks 'totally gorgeous' Kate couldn't handle the trip

Kate Middleton admires David Walliams for spending 8 days swimming the River Thames from Gloucestershire to central London – and she’d like to try the challenge herself.

But the 40-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge has told Kate, 30, that she’ll need to bulk up a little before she attempts the dangerous journey.

‘I met Kate Middleton and she said: “I’d love to swim the Thames“,’ says David.

‘I said: “You couldn’t do it, you are too skinny… you need a layer of fat for that sort of thing.”

‘She is absolutely stunning, totally gorgeous, but not at all the build for cold-water swimming.

‘Not like me, I’m a bit hefty,’

David tore a disc in his back, suffered from hypothermia and contracted diarrhoeal infection giardiasis during his swim for Sport Relief last September.

But the comedian – whose experience was filmed for TV show David Walliams’ Big Swim: A Sport Relief Challenge – says it all became worth it when he raised his target of £1 million.
