Harry believes in equal rights for everyone

Harry Styles hit back at anti-gay religious group Westboro Baptist Church after they picketed a One Direction gig on Friday night.

The WBC believers are convinced that 1D are ‘perverts’ who ‘glamorise sin’ by ‘grabbing each other’s asses on stage’ and think they should use their position in the spotlight to tell fans that ‘God hates f*gs’.

But after a small crowd arrived at Kansas City’s Sprint Center with signs reading ‘God hates the UK’ and ‘f*g lies’, Harry took action on Twitter.

‘Despite the company outside, I believe in equal rights for everyone. I think God loves all. Thanks for coming to the show though,’ Tweeted Harry, 19.

The Westboro Baptist Church later teased the band by Tweeting each member with: ‘Why didn’t you come out so we could serenade you?’

They also mocked Harry for his message to Directioners and sent him a link of a video they’d made explaining why they don’t think God loves everyone.

‘Despite @Harry_Styles wasting his humongous platform on goofy perversion, WBC showed up with truth last night in KC,’ Tweeted the group.

‘Last night: #WBC Gospel Truth vs. crotch grabbing pervert @Harry_Styles #ServeGodAndLive.’
