The actor urges fans to use sunscreen
Hugh Jackman has revealed that he’s been treated for skin cancer.
The actor, 45, uploaded a selfie of himself with a plaster across his nose to Instagram yesterday after having a dangerous growth removed.
Australian Hugh told his followers that his wife Deborra-Lee Furness had noticed the spot and urged him to visit a doctor.
‘Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right!’ wrote Hugh.
‘I had a basil cell carcinoma. Please don’t be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!’
BCC usually develops on skin exposed to the sun and, although it rarely spreads to other parts of the body, it can damage or disfigure surrounding tissue.
Hugh‘s fans think Deborra-Lee, 57, did a great job making sure his nose was seen to.
‘Get well soon. Your wife is a star! X,’ wrote one.
Another said: ‘Glad you got it early! Well done Deb.’
