Celebrities are thrilled to hang out with the gold medallist

Team GB athlete Jessica Ennis joined cyclist Bradley Wiggins and rower Pete Reed to mingle with show celebrities at an intimate Stone Roses gig in London on Monday night.

The heptathlon winner showed off her Olympic gold medal to famous faces including Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, actress Jaime Winstone, rapper Example and model Daisy Lowe at Shoreditch’s Village Underground club.

‘I’ve been pretty overwhelmed by the support all of us have been receiving,’ said Jessica, 26.

The Stone Roses lead singer Ian Brown had earlier announced the athletes’ appearance at the show to the crowd – deeming Jessica and Bradley the ‘real King and Queen of England’.

But self-confessed mod Bradley, 32 – who triumphed in the men’s time trial event last week – was likely to have been most thrilled to meet his hero Paul Weller, who’s nicknamed The Modfather.

The pair compared matching haircuts as they posed for photos.
